CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Demolition is planned for three medical
office buildings in Carson City that were part of the Carson Tahoe
Specialty Medical Campus on Mountain Street.
Razing is scheduled to begin April 16 and will take about 45 days to complete. Officials say care will be taken to preserve large trees on the site, and note that efforts were made to salvage any usable cabinetry, furniture and utility fixtures.
The Ross, Gilbert and Waters buildings were built in 1976 and were adjacent to the old Carson-Tahoe Hospital.
The office buildings have been empty for some time and were used
for police and firefighter training. There are no immediate development plans for the site.
A new Carson-Tahoe Regional Medical Center was built on the north end of town and opened in December 2005.
