GARDNERVILLE, NV -- 395 is closed south of Gardnerville due to heavy flooding and unstable hillsides. Thunderstorms have been reported in the area. The NHP predicts the road will be open by 8PM Friday.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials report at one point two cars got stuck in flood waters. At least one car suffered damage when it hit a boulder, and traffic has backed up two or three miles in each direction.

There have been two significant wildfires in the area of Ray May Way in the past two fire seasons. Terrain is often unstable and susceptible to land- and mudslides after wildfires.
