RENO, Nev. -- An earthquake rattled the southern Nevada desert northeast of Las Vegas Saturday just after noon.
The Nevada Seismological Laboratory at the University of Nevada, Reno reports the quake happened at 12:23pm. It was centered in the desert between the towns of Caliente and Mesquite (33 km SSE of Caliente, NV; 65 km S of Pioche, NV; 66 km NNW of Mesquite, NV). The epicenter was located at a depth of 17.01 kilometers.
There are no reports of damage or injuries.
