INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of Incline Village about a series of residential burglaries by prowlers who entered homes while the residents were there during the early morning hours.

Since Sept. 1, three residents have reported burglars entering through an unlocked door or window at occupied homes on Lake Tahoe's north shore.

Sheriff's deputies say the incidents are unusual because the vast majority of burglaries occur when nobody is home.

The sheriff's office is urging residents to secure all doors and windows and to report suspicious activities and/or persons by calling (775) 785-WCSO (9276).
