The Pentagon has made it no secret that it wants to send more forces to Afghanistan. The Administration says they need the power to fight more brazen attacks by the Taliban.

White House Press Secretary Dana Perino says the President is leary of pulling troops from Iraq because they would endanger work being done there.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates says he hopes to have the troops in place "sooner rather than later."
