RENO, NV - Reno police have arrested a man and woman suspected of targeting easy victims at ATMs to grab the cash and run.
Over the past three weeks a young male and young female suspect were reported to be approaching elderly victims after they got cash from a Wells Fargo Bank ATM in the 400 block of Keystone Ave. The suspects would then grab the money from the elderly victims and would run from the area.
Some of the crimes were reported to the bank and some were reported to the Reno Police Department. Upon further investigation by officers assigned to the Patrol Division and Detective Division of the Reno Police Department two suspects were identified and arrested for three of the thefts.
Suspect Justin Shurtleff 3/4/85 was arrested for two counts of Larceny Not Amounting to Robbery stemming from thefts he committed on August 10, 2012.
Suspect Melissa Gleixner 6/8/90 was arrested for one count of Robbery and one count of Crimes Against the Elderly that occurred on August 24, 2012.
Police say all of the targeted victims of the crimes committed or suspected of being committed by Shurtleff and Gleixner were elderly and/or physically impaired.
