Reno Police and the Washoe County Sheriff's Department continue their investigation into a suspicious package found late last night at the District Courthouse on Sierra and Court Streets.

A security guard found the package while doing a routine check.

The Bomb Squad was called in and doused the package with water first to see what was inside. When they say a metal container, the detonated the package. Turns out all that was inside the box was a metal container and newspaper.

Authotiries from RPD and Washoe County will examine the debris from the package.

The investigation continues into who could have put the box in the secured parking garage.
