Reno, NV - The Squeeze In opened its third location in south Reno on Friday morning. The owners, Misty and Gary Young, already have two other restaurants, one located in northwest Reno and the other in Truckee. Their new breakfast joint is located right across the street from the WinCo on South Virginia Street.
The Youngs have hired about 20 people to staff their restaurant. They also hired about 30 construction crews to make the building. On Friday morning those crews and their families were invited to breakfast, on the house. Many of those crews have been hit hard by the economy.
Ben Miller installed the restaurant’s air conditioning units. He says,” Business has been a little rough. The economy has hit the construction industry pretty hard and I think it's fabulous that a mom and pop shop is able to help a mom and pop shop like us.” Miller says he’s installed units in quite a few restaurants around town, but this is the first time a business owner is thanking him for his hard work with a free breakfast.
On Saturday, The Squeeze In is donating 20 percent of gross sales to For Pets Sake,
a Reno based animal rescue organization.
