Nevada's Unemployment Rate Drops to 12.5%

CARSON CITY, NV - THE APRIL NUMBERS ARE OUT AND THE STATE'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL LAST MONTH TO 12 AND A HALF PERCENT.

THIS IS THE FOURTH MONTH THAT THE RATE HAS DROPPED IN NEVADA, GOING DOWN FROM 13 POINT TWO PERCENT IN MARCH.

THE NUMBER OF JOBLESS PEOPLE FELL BY 98- HUNDRED, WITH TWO- THIRDS OF THOSE PEOPLE GETTING EMPLOYMENT.

THE BIGGEST DROP IN NEVADA HAPPENED IN CARSON CITY, WHERE THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE FELL ONE AND A HALF POINTS, TO 11 POINT SEVEN PERCENT IN THE PAST MONTH.

THE RENO- SPARKS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IS ALSO 11 POINT SEVEN PERCENT, AND THAT'S FOLLOWED BY LAS VEGAS AT 12 POINT ONE PERCENT.
