Reno, Nev. - The Monster Truck Mafia is ready to show Reno what they've got!
"Kids love destruction. I mean, that's why everybody watches everything. They want to see the destruction. Monster trucks is a race, with the destruction added," said Bill Payne, a monster truck driver.
"You drive around, and you can hit anything and everything you want," said Darren Mingus, a monster truck driver.
The monster trucks are so big, their wheels alone are almost as tall as the drivers. The driver of the truck "Rock Star" says his truck burns seven gallons of gas a minute.
The trucks don't have doors, for safety. Instead, to get inside the truck, you climb up into the cage through metal bars.
KOLO 8 News Now's Lauren Garber went for a ride inside Rock Star, crashing into cars, going over jumps, and flying into the air.
She says it's a feeling she won't soon forget.
"I could feel us shooting up in the air, and then you get that unsettled feeling in your stomach, and then just crashing back down," said Garber.
Payne says it's that feeling that keeps him driving Monster Trucks.
"I get out of the truck everyday still doing jumping jacks and want to do a somersault because I'm so excited," said Payne.
Monster X Tour will have shows on Friday and Saturday evening at the Reno Livestock Events Center.
