RENO, NV - It's an event that's watched by billions of people and only happens every 4 years. 32 teams will face off during the 2014 World Cup, which kicks off tomorrow and spans 12 cities across Brazil.

According to Thrillist.com, the last World Cup in 2010 was shown in every single country and territory on earth, reaching 3.2 billion in-home people or almost half of the world's population. That's not even counting the people watching in bars, restaurants and online.

Due to the big draw that the World Cup brings, staff at local sports bars say this is something they always plan ahead for. The operations manager for Bully's Sports Bar, Mike Thomas, says they expect big crowds and plan to offer food and drink specials during the games.

The first match of the World Cup will feature the host country Brazil facing off against Croatia Thursday at 1 pm. Team USA's first game will be on Monday at 3 pm when they play Ghana. The US will also have to get past a tough Portuguese team, and Germany, which is one of only eight teams to win the tournament with three championships under their belt.
