The State Capitol in Carson City will be closed to the public Wednesday morning for an emergency preparedness training drill.
This is the last of three. The first one took place in September, law enforcement agents acted out an evacuation situation. In October, staff and agents practiced an earthquake drill. On Wednesday, several different agencies will pretend there is an active shooter inside the capitol.
The capitol will be surrounded by Nevada Highway Patrolmen, Carson City Sheriff Deputies, emergency responders and Capitol Police. If you are driving in the area, everything is fine inside.
The capitol will be closed to the public from 8am-11am Wednesday.
