The San Francisco Zoo will be closed for investigation today, after a man was mauled to death by a tiger on Christmas.
Police say the man was killed when a tiger named Tatiana escaped the zoo's tiger pen and attacked him outside a cafe at the zoo, a little after 5:00 last evening.
Two other men were also attacked and injured by the animal.
They're hospitalized at San Francisco General Hospital where an official says they're resting comfortably, after being treated for bite and claw marks.
When police arrived they saw one of the victims sitting on the ground with bloody head wounds. Officers then shot and killed the tiger.
Zoo officials say the tiger that attacked three young men is the same animal that in December 2006 chewed off part of a zookeeper's arm.
