RENO, NV- Blockbuster stores around the country have started their liquidation sales.

KOLO 8 News Now has confirmed the Blockbuster store on Plumb and Virginia in Reno, as well as the store on Vista Blvd. in Sparks, have started selling off their merchandise. They're offering movies for just $10, and other items at discounted prices.

Blockbuster announced early this month that all of the remaining 300 Blockbuster retail stores in the U.S. would close by January 2014.

Some blockbuster stores actually operate as a franchise.
The owners of those stores will reportedly be able to keep their doors open under the Blockbuster name.
