Yard Work Unearths Human Remains

SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A man and woman doing yard work in their Southern California home have unearthed what police believe to be a human skull and bones.

Santa Ana Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says the couple discovered the remains while landscaping their new home Sunday and called police.

Bertagna said the remains were partially buried, and authorities planned to send an anthropologist to the yard Monday to excavate the bones and analyze them.

He said detectives were talking with the property's previous owners.
