OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Police are reviewing surveillance video as they investigate the fatal shooting of a 66-year-old woman who was driving a few blocks from her home in a quiet Oakland neighborhood.
Police said Judy Salamon died Wednesday when shots were fired into her car near a cemetery, sending it rolling down a hill and crashing into a parked vehicle.
No arrests have been made and no possible motives have been disclosed.
Neighbor Kate Heathcott told the Oakland Tribune the area had a reputation as a quiet neighborhood where everyone looks out for each other.
Police hope surveillance cameras in the area might provide evidence.
The slaying was Oakland's 56th homicide of the year.
