MURRIETA, Calif. (AP) - Homes in Riverside County are being
threatened by a fire that has burned more than 100 acres.
Melody Hendrickson, a spokeswoman for the Riverside County Fire
Department, says the blaze began about 11:45 a.m. in Murrieta,
about 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
Television images showed plumes of grey smoke blanketing hillsides and flames approaching at least two homes. Water-dropping
