9:30pm UPDATE:

FILLMORE, Calif. (AP) - Pushed by powerful winds, a wildfire swept across orchards and open fields in Ventura County, burning two homes and threatening dozens more.

County fire officials say the blaze began in a mobile home at about 3:15 p.m. Monday then spread to brush, bearing down on a neighborhood in Fillmore and burning a large home.

No injuries have been reported.

Fire Capt. Mike Lindbery says firefighters were working to get ahead of the 50-acre blaze amid winds gusts that peaked at more than 40 mph in late afternoon.

The Sheriff's Department says evacuation orders have been issued for about 80 homes and more than 200 people.

By nightfall winds had calmed significantly and the fire appeared to be burning away from homes, but firefighters had yet to establish any containment lines.
