MARYSVILLE, Calif. (AP) - Two California casino-owning tribes have filed lawsuits to block a third tribe in the state from building its own casino.

The two tribes say the Enterprise Rancheria of Maidu Indians' proposed casino near the Northern California city of Marysville would hurt business at their casinos and set a bad precedent since it is planned on land off the Rancheria's current reservation.

The Appeal-Democrat of Marysville reports that the lawsuits by the Cachil Dehe Band of Wintun Indians and the United Auburn Indian Community were filed last week.

Cachil Dehe operates the Colusa Casino. United Auburn operates Thunder Valley Casino in Placer County.

The U.S. Department of Interior and Gov. Jerry Brown have approved the Enterprise Rancheria's proposal.

Charles Altekruse, a spokesman for the tribe, said the lawsuits were last-ditch efforts and had little chance of succeeding.
