SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A man has been ordered to stand trial for murder in the death of a 13-year-old girl who was found stabbed and beaten in a baseball dugout at a Sacramento County park two years ago.

The Sacramento Bee reports prosecutors said Thursday that DNA on smoked cigarettes found at the scene match the suspect, 24-year-old Ryan Douglas Roberts, and the young victim.

Prosecutors say the evidence suggests they were in the dugout together, smoking.

Roberts was arrested last year in the March 2012 death of Jessica Funk-Haslam. His DNA was collected after he was arrested months earlier on suspicion of domestic violence.

A woman walking her dog found Funk-Haslam's body in a baseball dugout in Rosemont Community Park after the teen left home following an argument with her mom.
