Thunderstorms Hit Inland Southern California

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Moist, unstable air over Southern California mountains and deserts have triggered severe thunderstorms and flash-flood warnings in the inland region.

Towering thunderheads formed Thursday over the mountains Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties.

The National Weather Service reports weak rotation in a midafternoon line of severe thunderstorms in west-central Riverside County but says a tornado is not likely to immediately form. The weather service cautions, however, that it is possible a tornado could form.

Numerous lightning strikes are also occurring and forecasters say there also could be hail.
