SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - A man considered a person of interest in the stabbing death of a 23-year-old woman at a Southern California home has been caught in Arizona.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department said 25-year-old Derek Pinski was taken into custody Saturday night by Mesa police.
Authorities began looking for Pinski after deputies were dispatched to a home in Laguna Hills Saturday morning, where they saw the homeowner perform CPR on the woman. Paramedics also tried to resuscitate her, but ultimately pronounced her dead at the scene.
Investigators believed Pinski was at the scene of her death.
They did not release the victim's name or her relationship to Pinski pending notification of her death to relatives.
