NOVATO, Calif. (AP) - A San Francisco Bay Area highway was shut down during the busy morning commute after authorities say a woman jumped to her death from an overpass.
The woman jumped onto northbound Highway 101 in Novato around 7:20 a.m. Monday. The California Highway Patrol says she was struck by multiple vehicles.
She has not been identified.
The highway was shut down in both directions although the southbound lanes later reopened. The Marin Independent Journal reports that the northbound lanes were expected to reopen by 10:30 a.m.
