TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles county prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison after being convicted of murdering his wife in 1981.

City News Service reports 59-year-old Michael Lubahn Clark was sentenced Monday, hours after he agreed to lead a dive team to an area off San Pedro where he dumped the body of 26-year-old Carol Jeanne Lubahn.

Deputy District Attorney John Lewin says it's unclear whether the woman's remains can be found, and Clark's story has changed over the years.

Lewin says Clark told investigators that he had pushed his wife and she hit her head on a table, dying instantly.

Clark said he then panicked, drove her body to the ocean and disposed of her at sea.
