SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Ca. – The South Lake Tahoe Police Department has arrested a man on several felony charges.
Police tell KOLO 8 News Now they executed high risk search and arrest warrants at 2493 Williams Avenue. That’s where we are told 46-year-old Anthony Corbin was arrested.
Corbin is accused of beating a South Lake Tahoe man in March. The victim was hurt badly, including several broken bones. During this investigation, police say Corbin got into another fight with the same victim, and this time pulled a knife and threatened to kill the other person. According to the police report, Corbin’s wife was present during this fight and stood between the two in an effort to stop the fight. The wife was also battered during this incident.
The wife was placed in a safe location while the investigation continued. Police say Corbin is an ex-felon with a violent criminal history. During the search warrant execution, police say they found several firearms and high capacity magazines that were unlawfully possessed by Corbin.
Corbin surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident. Corbin was charged with being an ex-felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal terrorist threats, battery with serious bodily injury and domestic violence.
SLTPD will be requesting the El Dorado District Attorney file a criminal enhancement of committing crimes in the furtherance of a criminal street gang. Police say Corbin is a member of the South Lake Tahoe Brotherhood Motorcycle Club.
