SAN DIEGO (AP) - A small plane has landed on a San Diego highway after its engine lost power. No injuries are reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the single-engine Cessna 150 landed on state Route 125 around 11 a.m. Friday en route to San Diego's Brown Field Municipal Airport from Ensenada, Mexico. The plane is registered to John Renquist of Valley Center.
California Highway Patrol Officer Robert Catano says the pilot was the only person aboard the plane when it landed on the lightly traveled, four-lane toll road, also known as the South Bay Expressway. The highway runs north from the Mexican border to San Diego's eastern suburbs.
The CHP says the plane's wheels landed on the right shoulder of northbound lanes.
