LOS ANGELES (AP) - A brushfire is burning near a foothill freeway in Los Angeles but authorities say it's small and no homes are threatened.
The fire erupted shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday near State Route 134 in the Eagle Rock area.
Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the blaze has burned around four acres of brush.
Television news reports show scattered tongues of flame below a scrub-dotted ridge that rises steeply above the freeway. A subdivision is on the other side of the ridge but the fire doesn't appear to be moving.
At least one westbound lane is closed to make room for fire engines.
