Shirtless Man Running From Bail Bondsman Climbs on East LA Roof

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A shirtless man has finally climbed down from the roof of an East Los Angeles house hours after he ran there to escape a bail bondsman.

The man slowly descended a ladder at about 11:45 a.m. Friday.

Los Angeles County sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker says the bondsman went to the home at around 7 a.m. to take the man into custody after he failed to meet conditions of a $115,000 bail on a burglary warrant.

Parker says the paroled con fled into the attic and then onto the roof, wearing only shorts and socks in drizzly, chilly weather.

Parker says deputies surrounded the home and evacuated neighbors. They set up a ladder and talked to him, offering him warm clothes and food.
