SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A San Francisco Internet entrepreneur once featured on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" has pleaded not guilty to charges that he assaulted his girlfriend.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that 31-year-old Gurbaksh Chahal entered the plea on Friday. He faces dozens of domestic-violence related charges.
Prosecutors say he hit his girlfriend and tried to smother her with a pillow at his home on Monday after learning she had gone on a trip with another man. The alleged attack was caught on surveillance footage.
Chahal's attorney, Jim Lassart, says prosecutors were blowing an argument between Chahal and his girlfriend out of proportion.
Chahal is the CEO of online advertising company RadiumOne. When he was on "Oprah" in 2010, he was billed as one of the world's youngest and wealthiest entrepreneurs.
