SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - A former prominent Democrat in San Bernardino who was wrongly accused of having child pornography while working as an aide to Congressman Joe Baca has filed a $7.5 million claim against the county.
The San Bernardino Sun reports 61-year-old Samuel Clauder's March 28 claim names Deputy District Attorney Maryanne Choi, sheriff's Detective Michael Pelkey, and District Attorney Michael Ramos.
Clauder says he was left destitute after being falsely accused in 2009 by his son Trey Stancher.
Stancher later admitted to putting child porn on Clauder's computer to frame him after a forensics expert discovered the illegal images came from a peer-to-peer networking account belonging to Stancher.
Clauder was cleared of wrongdoing in October.
He has accused the district attorney's office of selective prosecution and has requested an FBI investigation.
