LOS ANGELES (AP) - Several people were reportedly treated at a hospital after an early-morning fire gutted the Los Angeles home of former City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.
City fire officials say the blaze was reported at 2:52 a.m. Saturday at the two-story house in the Wilshire Park neighborhood. A knockdown was declared less than 20 minutes later.
City News Service reports a father rescued his wife, three children and a dog from the flames.
Neighbors told television reporters that 52-year-old Delgadillo tried to battle the fire with a garden hose and was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
Witnesses said that the mother and at least two of the children also went to a hospital.
Firefighters said they could not confirm those reports, or the identity of the homeowner and injured people.
