Police Use Taser on Unruly Football Dad

SALINAS, Calif. (AP) - Salinas police used a stun gun to subdue a Salinas man who allegedly got into a confrontation with a coach at a youth football game and then turned belligerent when officers showed up to talk with him.

The Monterey County Herald reports that the officers used the Taser on 41-year-old David Ray Camel after he removed his shirt, balled up his fists in a fighting stance and refused to follow orders.

Camel was taken from the football game at North Salinas High School to a local hospital. The Herald quotes Salinas police as saying he was under the influence of alcohol and medication.

He was released on charges of resisting arrest and public intoxication.
