OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - A 15-year-old on trial as an adult for the murder of his adoptive parents told police that he felt sad while he was strangling them.
The Oakland Tribune reports that Moses Kamin's admission came in police interrogation videos played Tuesday during the teen's preliminary hearing.
Kamin is charged with the murders of 54-year-old Robert Kamin and his wife, 50-year-old Susan Poff.
In the video, Kamin said he reacted without thought on Jan. 27 when he strangled his mother after she confronted him about being suspended from school.
He told police he waited until his father returned from work, then attacked him.
After the hearing, a judge will decide whether enough evidence exists for Kamin to be tried for the murders.
