LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say a father left his 2-year-old daughter in a truck while he went inside a Van Nuys strip club to drink.

The Los Angeles Times reports (http://lat.ms/Yqil92 ) 24-year-old Santos Barillas of Canoga Park faces several charges, including child endangerment.

Officers were dispatched to the 7557 Club on Woodley Avenue early Sunday after someone called 911 to report a child was locked inside a Toyota pickup.

When officers arrived they found the man asleep with the child in the back seat. Officials said the temperature in the truck was about 45 degrees.

Investigators interviewed several bar patrons and workers who confirmed the man was inside the club without the child. Officials tell the newspaper the suspect was allegedly intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
