SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A person has been struck and killed by a Sacramento Regional Transit light rail train while walking a bike across the tracks in Rancho Cordova.
Transit spokesman Alane Masui says the incident happened around 6:40 a.m. Monday as the train headed toward downtown Sacramento from Folsom.
Masui says the crossing arms were down and the bells were ringing at the intersection where the train struck the unidentified person.
The transit system has shuttle buses transporting passengers between the two stations on either side of the crash while officials investigate.
