SAN RAMON, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California pastor has been charged with having an unlawful sexual relationship with a 17-year-old teenage runaway.
According to a press release from the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office, 33-year-old Hyo Bin Im was charged on Tuesday with unlawful sexual intercourse, child concealment and animal cruelty.
The Contra Costa Times reports that authorities said Im had been hiding two female juvenile runaways at the Contra Costa Korean Presbyterian Church in San Ramon as well as at his home.
Detectives said Im was responsible for animal cruelty that led to a dog's death.
The newspaper reports that police said Im describes himself as the founder of the Living Well Ministries, a nonprofit organization that he says assists emancipated orphans, the homeless and widows.
