OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland police say an extensive search is underway for a missing federal investigator after a parolee has been identified as a person of interest in connection with her disappearance.
Officer Johnna Watson said Thursday that local and federal investigators will be searching an area around the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo overnight for any clues involving the disappearance of Sandra Coke who was last seen in Oakland on Sunday.
Watson said Randy Alana, a 56-year-old parolee from Oakland, was taken into custody on Tuesday and is being questioned about his ties to Coke after investigators discovered he was with Coke on Sunday.
A family friend said the 50-year-old Coke, a capital case investigator for the federal public defender's office in Sacramento, dated Alana more than 20 years ago.
Coke's family and friends are also offering a $100,000 reward.
