SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - A Northern California high school baseball team saved a 16-year-old girl who was pinned under a car when they worked together to lift it off her.
Sacramento's KCRA-TV reports the team from Valley High School in Elk Grove heard a girl's cries during their last practice of the season Wednesday and ran to help.
The girl, a student visiting from another high school, had been run over by her own mother, who accidentally backed over her.
The team lifted the car while the coach, James Millholland, pulled the girl out.
Millholland says there was little discussion among the 16 team members, who just ran out to the car and did what needed to be done.
The girl, whose name has not been released, is expected to fully recover.
