RENO, Nev. -- The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) is trying to find the vehicle that hit a man crossing the street at Stateline and drove off without stopping.
The hit and run happened at 1:23am on the morning of Sunday, September 30th. So far, investigators have learned that 25-year old Philip Preston Parsons - from Santa Rosa, California - was crossing US 50 at Stateline in front of the CVS pharmacy. He was walking northbound, and while he was inside the marked crosswalk, he was crossing against the red "do not walk" light.
Parsons was hit by a dark colored SUV that was traveling westbound into California. Investigators do not know the vehicle registration information.
The road was closed for more than four hours during the investigation. Parsons was taken to a Reno hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
