SAN FERNANDO, Calif. (AP) - A former Los Angeles teacher has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for molesting 13 students.
Prosecutors say 51-year-old Paul Chapel was also ordered Thursday to register as a sex offender for life.
The Los Angeles Unified School District teacher taught third grade at Telfair Elementary School in the Pacoima area of the east San Fernando Valley.
He pleaded no contest last month to 13 counts of lewd acts upon a child.
The molestations occurred between September 2006 and April 2011 and involved children between the ages of 8 and 9.
