Metal Fragments Prompt Frozen Pizza Recall

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - A Berkeley-based company is recalling frozen pizzas that may contain metal fragments.

The Oakland Tribune says a voluntary recall was issued Tuesday for all varieties of Annie's Homegrown Rising Crust pizza. The recall covers boxes with "best by" dates of Jan. 9, 2013 to Sept. 14 of this year.

Annie's says a faulty screen at a flour mill left metal mesh fragments in flour and pizza dough.

However, no metal has been found in the finished product and there have been no reports of injuries.
