IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - A memorial service for a couple believed to have been killed by former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner has attracted hundreds of mourners to the Irvine university where the two met.
KNBC reports some 1,700 people attended Sunday's service for Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence at Concordia University, with 600 more in an overflow room.
Quan and Lawrence were found shot in their Irvine condo building on Feb. 3, setting off a massive manhunt for Dorner. He had declared a revenge war on officers and the families of those he blamed for ending his career.
Quan's father represented Dorner in his failed appeal of his dismissal. Randal Quan told mourners that the deaths of his daughter and her fiancé were senseless.
The couple met while playing basketball at Concordia.
