LOS ANGELES (AP) - Police say that a teenager who survived a car crash with a big rig was killed as he tried to escape traffic on the freeway where the accident happened.
The incident on Interstate 5 in Los Angeles was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 4:20 a.m. Saturday.
The 18-year-old was a passenger in a Honda Accord that crashed with the truck, and came to a rest blocking the two left lanes.
As he tried to get to safety, the teenager was fatally struck by another vehicle, which did not stop.
