CARLSBAD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man who was struck by a train and thrown 20 feet in Carlsbad has survived with only minor injuries.
The San Diego County Sheriff's Department says the 23-year-old man was drunk when he ignored warning lights and tried to cross the tracks in front of the train shortly after midnight Sunday.
A sheriff's press statement says the man appeared to have only scrapes and bruises but he was taken to a hospital for examination.
