MONTEBELLO, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles County sheriff's officials say a man suspected of shooting his estranged wife to death outside her workplace has turned himself in.

A sheriff's statement says 29-year-old Arthur Andrade of Tustin surrendered at the Whittier Police Department at 1 a.m. Sunday. He is being held on $1 million bail.

Andrade is suspected of ambushing his wife Soria Esperanza in the parking lot of a Mexican diner in Montebello and arguing with her before shooting her several times in the upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff's Lt. John Corina tells the San Gabriel Valley Tribune the couple was in the process of getting divorced, and she had gotten a restraining order against him.
