Man Pleads Guilty to Throwing Girlfriend Under SUV

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) - A Central California man has pleaded guilty to throwing his girlfriend under his sport utility vehicle and running her over, killing the woman.

The Santa Maria Times says 31-year-old Jack Misiaszek pleaded guilty on Thursday to vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. He also pleaded no contest to gang-related attempted carjacking charges in a 2011 stabbing case.

He faces nearly 11 years in prison when he's sentenced next week.

Misiaszek and his 20-year-old girlfriend Antionette Raygoza were arguing last February as Misiaszek sat in the driver's seat of his SUV. Raygoza was standing outside the driver's window.

A witness says Misiaszek reached out, lifted Raygoza off her feet and accelerated.

The woman was then thrown under the SUV and she was run over and killed.
