LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say a man was shot to death and his wife was wounded when he went to check on a blaring car alarm outside their home in Watts.

KABC-TV says officers interviewed neighbors and took fingerprints from parked cars as they searched for at least two suspects in Sunday night's shooting.

Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots.

Both victims were described as being in their mid-50s. The man was shot twice in the chest. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The woman was shot in the arm. She is reportedly in stable condition.

Investigators are trying to determine whether the suspects had a connection to the victims.
