Man Hit by Train and Killed in Baldwin Park

BALDWIN PARK, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 49-year-old man pushing a bicycle was hit by a train and killed in the Los Angeles-area.

City News Service reports Carlos Jacinto DeSantiago walked under a railroad crossing arm in Baldwin Park Friday evening when he was struck by a Metrolink train on the San Bernardino line.

Baldwin Park police Sgt. Chris Hafford says the accident happened at the crossing on Ramona Boulevard and Downing Avenue.

DeSantiago, of Norwalk, was pronounced dead at the scene.
