ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man walking on railroad tracks in Anaheim was killed after being struck by a freight train.
Police Sgt. Chris Pena tells the Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/1g1VfwD ) the train's conductor saw the man on the tracks but was unable to stop in time.
Officers were called to the scene shortly before 11 p.m. on New Year's Eve. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Pena says it's unclear why he on the tracks.
Orange County coroner's officials are trying to determine his identity.
