SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine how a man who was found crushed to death by an elevator at a Bay Area Rapid Transit station in San Francisco managed to get into the elevator shaft.
KGO-TV reports that a man reported Sunday night that he heard a crunching sound and yelp as he rode the elevator up at the Montgomery Street station. The station also handles San Francisco light-rail trains.
The victim's body was later found on top of the elevator along with some personal belongings that apparently included bedding.
The elevator was out of service on Monday morning.
